Dear families,

The governor has just directed all school districts in Florida to keep schools closed through the end of the school year due to concerns over the coronavirus.

We will follow this directive and continue eLearning through the end of the school year. You can find our district’s eLearning Contingency Plan at HillsboroughSchools.org/coronavirus/eLearning.

Additionally, ALL extracurricular activities will be cancelled during this timeframe including graduations. However, we have worked with select seniors, school-based leaders and district staff to develop multiple options for school graduations. We will communicate that in the coming days.

We know you have many questions about what this means for your student’s grades as well as activities and events planned during the fourth quarter. We will be providing you additional details in the coming days.

We will also continue to provide our weekly Grab-and-Go meal distributions on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. during this time.

The health and safety of our students, staff, and community members are our top priority.

Our district will continue to provide updates to make certain everyone is apprised of all next steps.

Thank you for your support and flexibility during this time.

Queridas familias,

Dear Families,

This is a reminder that, beginning tomorrow, our district will be distributing food one day per week, providing students with one week’s worth of food at a time.

Due to new CDC guidelines and a statewide stay-at-home order, our district wants to minimize contact between Student Nutrition Services workers and our families.

Families will be able to pick up a week's worth of nutritious meals every Wednesday at the same 147 sites-- between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. This will include one pound of lunch meat, a loaf of bread, milk, juice and nutritious snacks. Students will receive enough food for each school day. Buses will also be transporting foods into specific neighborhoods for pick up every Wednesday.

It's important to note that these food bags will weigh over ten pounds together. If you are walking up or riding a bike to a Grab-and-Go site, please have your child bring their empty backpack to provide a simple way to transport the food.

For a list of frequently asked questions, please visit HillsboroughSchools.org. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to keep our community safe while making sure our children have food during this closure.

Thank you

Familias,

Dear Families,

Beginning this Wednesday, April 15th, our district will be distributing food one day per week-- providing students one week's worth of food at a time, instead of daily distribution.

Due to new CDC guidelines and a statewide stay-at-home order, our district wants to minimize contact between Student Nutrition Services workers and our families. We believe one-day-a-week food distribution will be safer for the community as a whole.

Each student will receive a bag of food that needs to be refrigerated, and one that can stay at room temperature. It's important to note that these food bags will weigh over ten pounds together. If you are walking up or riding a bike to a Grab-and-Go site, please have your child bring their empty backpack to provide a simple way to transport the food.

Please note-- we will be feeding students this Monday April 13th,  and Tuesday, April 14th at Grab-and-Go sites- to make sure students have nutritious meals before the new schedule starts this Wednesday. For a list of frequently asked questions, please visit HillsboroughSchools.org.

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to keep our community safe while making sure our children have food during this closure.

Dear Families,

The state has just directed all school districts in Florida to keep schools closed through May 1st due to concerns over the coronavirus.

In order to comply with that directive, the following facts will be in effect immediately:

  • All Hillsborough County Public Schools will be closed, including traditional and charter, through May 1st;

  • ALL extracurricular activities will be cancelled during this time;

  • We will continue online eLearning during this time. You can find our district’s eLearning Plan on our website, HillsboroughSchools.org/coronavirus;

  • We will continue providing our students nutritious meals, Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at 147 sites. You can find those sites on our website, HillsboroughSchools.org.

We understand this is a challenge for families. But the threat of this virus is very real, and we must take major steps to keep it from overwhelming our healthcare system.

As you know, the health and safety of our students, staff, and community members are our top priority. Our district will continue to provide updates to make certain everyone is apprised of all next steps. You can always visit HillsboroughSchools.org/coronavirus for the latest information.

I appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this time.

Familias,

  • TODAS las actividades extracurriculares se cancelarán durante este período de tiempo;

Addison Davis
