Greeting Grady Tigers,

As the media specialist here at Grady, I would like to take a moment to thank the PTA and greater community for the support that has been shown throughout the renovation of the media center. I cannot begin to tell you what a positive impact it has had on the students, myself, and the rest of the staff. It is a much happier and inviting place to spend time. It would never have been possible without the help of many parents who worked tirelessly throughout the process, whether it was in the planning and design, the packing up prior to, the cleaning and reshelving of the books afterwards, or financial contributions. I am so happy to be a part of the Grady community that made this possible. My sincere thanks go out to every one of you that supported this effort.

I would like to invite all of you to be a part of the media program going forward so that it can continue
to better serve our students. Now that Covid has become less of a threat, and volunteers are returning
to the school, please consider finding a little time to assist in the media center. There are many ways
you can help, whether it be assisting with the day-to-day operations like checking out or shelving books,
assisting with book processing, reading to the lower grades, assisting in creating stimulating library
displays. We are also hoping to find several imaginative, enthusiastic people to assist in the design and
implementation of other programs such as the S.L.A.M showcase, author visits or our Makerspace. And,
of course, our book fairs require the work of many people to set up, run and pack up after the fun.

If you are interested in assisting, please contact me at [email protected] with a brief introduction
and an indication of what you would enjoy doing to make the library the best in the district. With your
help we can achieve that goal.

Congratulations to Dora Garcia, Leslie Ona, and Jade Timmons for being awarded for their commitment to excellence in education!
