PTA Updates

Thanks to all of the many volunteers and parents who helped at our annual Tiger Trek Walk-a-thon this past Friday.  The event turned out great and the weather could not have been better.  The kids all had a wonderful time, got some great exercise, and even took home a few goodies from our excellent sponsors.

Thank you to Jim Cornwell State Farm, Abdoney Orthodontics, After Hours Pediatrics, South Tampa Dental Krewe and South Tampa Pediatric Dentistry (Dr. Rudolph) for their generous donations and sponsorship of our event!

The walk-a-thon orange tiger striped t-shirts were such a hit that we have had many requests by students, teachers, etc. to obtain one.  We have decided that we will leave the Tiger Trek Donation Page: Donate, active for one more week for anyone that would like a t-shirt to go online and make a minimum $35 donation.  Orders for shirts will be placed with the printer at 3:30 pm on Friday, February 5.  Prize levels have already been determined, so this donation would be for a shirt only.  You may also fill out a donation envelope which was sent home with all students the first part of January and give it to your teacher or leave it in the front office.  If you do not have an envelope, one may be obtained in the front office.  Please be sure to mark down your child's t-shirt size.  If an online donation is made, please let your student's teacher know your child's t-shirt size.

Again, thank you to all who helped make this event a huge success.  Money raised from this event and others throughout the year are put towards teacher mini-grants, student enrichment programs, new classroom technology, etc.  We could not do these improvements without you, and appreciate each and every one of you!

The sign up period for Grady After School Clubs ends at midnight on Friday, February 5.  Click here to sign up: Club Signup.  Clubs begin Monday, February 8.  Robotics Club is introducing new a curriculum that will feature all new WeDo Lego robotics models including animals, rockets and windmills.  Yoga Club for K-2 now offers the option for parent/child yoga, meaning that both the parent and child may sign up for this program.   This is not an adults’ level yoga program, just a program that focuses on balance,  Parents who sign up with their children will sign up for the club the same way the child does.  Parents should be prepared to present ID in the school office before each yoga club meeting.
