Brief history of how the Internet was created

  • The need for better communications was the primary reason the Internet was created. (Binary 0101)




  • DARPA - Defense Advance Research Projects Agency built the original backbone of today's Internet in the 1980's




  •  Universities around the world began using this technology to share information



  • Tim Berners-Lee invented HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) and HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) in November of 1989



  • Marc Andreessen and Eric Bina created the first Graphical Web Browser called Mosaic in November of 1993 (21 Years ago)

  • In early 1994 Tim Berners-Lee came up with URL's (Uniform Resource Locators) to use with HTTP
