Grady Elementary is having a Scholastic Book Fair from Monday, September 22 to Tuesday, September 30, in the Kathryn Hance Media Center on campus. Monday, September 22 is the teacher preview day, and Tuesday, September 23 is the student preview day. Wednesday, September 23 to Monday, September 29 the book fair will be in full swing, Each regular week day, the book fair will be open from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm. Tuesday, September 30 is the last day of the book fair and it will close early at 2:30 pm.
Flyers with pictures of the books will be coming home in backpacks soon. If you give your child money to purchase books, please include enough money to pay 7% sales tax on all purchases. If you send your child with cash, please place it in an envelope or baggie so that we may put the change back in the envelope or baggie. There will be volunteers at the book fair to assist younger children with their purchases.
The book fair will also be offered online and the online version offers a greater selection of books. If you want to create a wish list and invite family and friends to buy online, forward this link: http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/grady. The advantage of buying online is that there is an expanded period in which to buy books: from September 17 to October 7. Proceeds from the book fair benefit the Kathryn Hance Media Center at Grady Elementary.
Please consider volunteering for the book fair. You can come to the Media Center and work a shift shelving books, helping students with their purchases or working the cash register. To register to volunteer, please click on this link to the Grady Volunteer Station: http://gradytigers.org/2014-fall-bookfair-volunteer-schedule. If you can’t participate in an entire shift but still want to come out and help, please note your time restrictions in the comments section when you sign up. We appreciate our volunteers!!
