Grady Elementary PTA congratulates Grady Elementary Teacher of the Year, Alberta Ward!  Congratulations to Mrs. Ward for her wonderful achievement. 

Next, Grady Dad shirts are almost ready for delivery.  Dads can expect their shirts to come home in backpacks during the week of November 18.  We just placed the last order of Grady Mom shirts for this semester.  We will start taking new orders of Grady Mom shirts in January.

Finally, the Grady Elementary PTA plans to amend its bylaws to increase the number of vice presidents to 7 and to change the succession plan in the event that the president is no longer able to carry out the duties of the office.  The proposed bylaws will provide succession in the following order (1) VP of Membership; (2) VP of Communications; (3) VP of Sponsorship and (4) VP of Fundraising/Ways and Means.  We hope to never have to use our succession plan.  As part of the process to amend the bylaws, the PTA board must serve 30 days’ notice to the membership of the proposed change.  This email constitutes the official notice of the proposed amendments.  A copy of the proposed amended bylaws together with a list of the duties of each of the seven vice presidents are contained in a PDF document attached to this email.  Within the attached document, the sections to be amended are blocked out in the color yellow and the list of vice presidents and their duties appears on the last page.  The proposed amendments will be voted upon at the general membership PTA meeting to be held on December 19 at 5:30 pm in the school Pavilion, immediately before the Winter Concert.
