Thank you so much to all of the grandparents that participated in our Grandparent's Breakfast on September 6th & 7th and to our staff and volunteers! Education Referendum Town Hall Meeting with Superintendent Jeff Eakins

You are invited to attend an upcoming town hall meeting in the Grady Elementary cafeteria on Wednesday, September 26th from 7-9pm. Superintendent Jeff Eakins will talk about the education referendum and the impact it will have on our schools and our community.

Right now, because of inadequate state funding, our students face a future in aging, crowded schools and our community faces a $2 billion challenge. The half-penny sales tax education referendum on the November 6 ballot would generate approximately $131 million per year for ten years that would be spent on specific projects to improve our public schools.

Each meeting will provide families, employees and community members the opportunity to get your questions about the referendum answered — straight from Superintendent Eakins. For more information, please click on Town Hall Meetings.

Box Tops

Please help us make it another great box top year!  Last year we raised $1,000 in box tops and our goal this year is $1500! The money raised last year was used to purchase laptops and other school enhancement projects. Clip and send in unexpired box tops on the forms that were sent home or in clear ziploc-style bags, with a maximum of 50 Box Tops per bag. Grady will receive 10 cents for every Box Top collected and submitted.

Send in Box Tops between now and Sept 28, 2018.

Pennies for Patients

Grady is participating in the Pennies for Patients campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The campaign runs through October 5th. We are requesting pennies, dimes, quarters, dollars (and even checks!) to be donated to this worthy cause. Students already received a small box to collect their money. In addition, you can donate online by clicking on Pennies for Patients online donations!

Reflections Art Contest

The Reflections Art Program encourages and celebrates students artists.  This year, students will be reflecting on the theme “Heroes Around Me” to develop a piece of art.  The program will be overseen by Grady Art Teacher, Ms. Debonique Grigsby, but the art work will be completed at home by students and submitted in art class. Deadline for submission of art is October 17, 2018. There will be a professionally-judged art contest at the end of the program, complete with award ribbons for the top three art pieces in each grade, honorable mention ribbons, and an awards party that will double as an ice-cream social. For additional information, please visit:

Reflections Art Program or email [email protected].

Got used markers? ColorCycle them at Grady

What is Crayola ColorCycle? Crayola’s latest sustainability initiative designed to repurpose markers, highlighters and dry erase markers. All marker brands are accepted.

How do I help? Collect markers and drop them off in the front office or your student can give them to our art teacher, Debonique Grigsby.

For more information, click on ColorCycle.

Schoolkidz Feedback

We would greatly appreciate any feedback on the Schoolkidz school kits program as we work on improving it for next year. Please email [email protected] by Friday, September 28th.

Grady PTA Membership

Thank you to all of the families that have already signed up to join the Grady PTA! You can still sign up/renew your PTA membership online by clicking PTA Membership.
