PTA Updates

Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15, the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries—Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico declared its independence on September 16, and Chile on September 18.  This month lasts through October 15.

During this month, we recognize the contributions made and the important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the United States and celebrate their heritage and culture.

Students at Grady Elementary participated in a contest to develop a bookmark to honor the theme of "Our Hispanic Heritage."  This program was overseen by Grady Art Teacher, Ms. Debonique Grigsby.

Multiple Grady students were honored as winners of the Hispanic Heritage Bookmark Contest, as named below.  Congratulations y felicidades to these winners!  Pictures of the some of the winning bookmarks may be seen here: Pictures of Winning Bookmarks.
